S Block Resident's Community, Greater Kailash, Part 1, New Delhi

Our Vision

S-Block Residents Community ®

Vision

We aspire to create a safe, harmonious and friendly environment for all residents.

Mission

Harness synergies through a collaborative support of residents and government authorities to achieve improved living conditions and a harmonious environment.

Residents First

For SBRC, residents are a priority. The ‘resident first’ approach is central to the core functioning of the team and is the bedrock of all endeavours and initiatives planned for inclusive growth and development of S Block. Our society is determined to make the block a safe, peaceful and vibrant place to live in.

We aspire to:

  • Effectively and mindfully utilise human, financial and infrastructural resources.

  • harness synergies amongst the residents through a mindful exchange of thoughts, ideas and information thus encouraging free and open communication.

  • Facilitate accelerated response in the unfortunate event of an accident or an emergency.

  • Establish effective mechanisms of working with service providers.

  • Explore opportunities to seamlessly connect with welfare programmes of the Government, civil society organisations, national and international agencies so as to create awareness and sensitization to eventually benefit society.

  • Inculcate an effective, participatory approach to evoke a sense of belonging.

  • Reach out to RWAs of other blocks in Greater Kailash to develop inter-block programmes of mutual interest and forge a cohesive environment.

Priority Areas

1. Safety and security: remain central to all programmes and initiatives of SBRC for inclusive growth, harmony and development of S block.

  • Security of residents is foremost on our agenda.

  • Watch and ward: ensure regular patrolling by the police personnel especially in the evenings and essentially during the night.

  • Enhance vigilance: solicit the participation of residents to participate in a mutually beneficial neighbourhood watch scheme

  • Monitoring : strategic installation of CCTV cameras and round the clock surveillance

  • Street lights : strategic installation of new and replacement of old lights to be taken up on priority, lighting up dark spaces on roads, crossings and back lanes, particularly along the drain.

  • Verification : ensure mandatory registration and police verification of domestic helpers and tenants as per the laws of the government.

2. Cleanliness, health & hygiene

Cleanliness and hygiene are absolutely necessary to ensure a healthy environment. They are inextricably linked with peaceful living.

SBRC would engage, on a regular basis, with health care and wellness agencies both, in the public and private sector to undertake health awareness programmes.

Promote an innovative and out-of-the-box approach by involving all stakeholders, using all resources efficaciously.

Ensure regular cleaning of front and back lanes and undertake all necessary steps to prevent water logging in the block.

Ensure regular fumigation to control the menace of disease spreading insects and pests.

We are keen to make our block a ‘Plastic Waste Free’ zone. Towards this end all necessary steps will be taken with the help of SDMC by Team SBRC to achieve our goal.

3. Traffic regulation and parking

To ensure a methodical and disciplined flow of traffic especially within the colony by lanes, team SBRC will work towards the implementation of one-way traffic movement and demarcation of parking slots around the S block park. This step will also contribute towards harmonious and cordial relations amongst the residents, especially since parking/wrongful parking has often been the reason for discord.

4. Strengthen community bonds

Facilitating community interaction: a well-planned calendar of community events will be shared with members well in advance. These shall include celebration of festivals, special occasions, sports events, sessions with guest speakers and regular get-togethers with residents.

Inter RWA Initiative: Based on the premise that we should complement and not compete, working closely with RWAs of other residential blocks is essential and will be encouraged especially in areas of mutual interest.

Team SBRC will also serve as a catalyst in gearing up preparedness for meeting any eventualities. The team is committed towards a collective approach towards problem solving, and hand holding of fellow residents especially during any unforeseen times of distress.

The road ahead

The overall success of the programmes envisaged above would undoubtedly rely on cohesive teamwork, commitment by SBRC as well as the involvement and voluntary support of the residents. With the aim to ensure seamless coordination, SBRC proposes to form sub-committees to conduct and take forward, various community activities and services such as:

Security and safety

Health and wellness

Sports

Cultural

Communication

Social media

Youth affairs

Legal

Disaster management

Remedial education
